Medical technology, also known as public health, is the name of my pre-medical program. Other countries, such as the United States of America, refer to it as clinical/medical laboratory science, while others refer to it as biomedical science. We are in charge of the specimens, which include not only fluids but anything else that can be extracted from patients and tested for the physicians' diagnosis.
Because specimens are handled, medical technologists are among the most vulnerable to disease. Aside from that, chemicals and reagents are toxic, with some even being carcinogenic. Everything in this profession is toxic, from the stress to the toxic substances themselves. Despite the fact that it may appear toxic, it is a decent and respectable profession that contributes to the patient's health outcomes. When you handle a specimen, you are handling their lives.
